Annual Report for year 2002

Computers that are no longer used have been taken into Association premises. The most consequential computer donated to the Association was russian made MIR 2 computer. The manufacturing year of MIR 2 was 1972. It has been in use in the Helsinki University of Technology.

Saving data from punched cards has been expanded so that it is now possible to save data also from 8" floppy disks. Finnish Literature Association (1330 letters by Elias Lönnrot), Science of Communications of the University of Jyväskylä and the Technical Museum of Helsinki (inventory list of the museum) have been helped by the Association. Saving data for the Technical Museum of Helsinki needed also learning of IBM 36 computer. The technical design was done by Mr. Lasse Nirhamo.

Several groups from e.g. IBM, Finnish Defence Forces and Tietoenator Ltd have visited Agora exhibition. During the "Jyväskylä City Night" happening 150 persons visited Agora exhibition.

ADP-directors from different universities and polytechnics, personnel of Archive Association and director of the Alliance of the Information Technology have visited the collection of the Association at Kauhatie.

In the autumn the Association participated the Exhibition of Technology at Jyväskylä together with the Aviation Museum of Central Finland and the Museum of the Control Engineering.

The membership fee for year 2003

The membership fee for year 2003 is €10 for private persons and €50 for company members.
